By Airplane

Getting to Wilmington is not all that complicated. Wilmington's ILM, the Wilmington International Airport, is located just 10 minutes away from the heart of Downtown Wilmington. By Car

Now if you are not planning on taking a plane all the way to Wilmington, driving is always an option too. If you are driving from anywhere in the United States/Canada, of course. Here are two possible routes that a family from Québec can take to get to Wilmington by car.

Option 1:
From Montreal, go through New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. Here are the main roads that will be taken throughout the route: Autoroute 15 S, Interstate 87 S, NJ-17 S, New Jersey Turnpike S, US-40 W, Interstate 95 S, Interstate 895 S, Interstate 295 S, US-117 S, Interstate 40 E, and Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway. This route takes about 16 hours, as it is mostly freeways and interstates.

Option 2:
From Montreal, go through Ontario, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia. Here are the main roads that will be taken throughout the route: Autoroute 20 W, Prov. 401 W, Interstate 81 S, Skyline Drive, Blue Ridge Parkway, and Interstate 40 E. This route takes about 20 hours, but is a much more scenic route, travelling through the Susquehanna River, the Pocono Mountains, the Appalachian Range, and the Blue Ridge Mountains.
